Scholarship Description

The intent of this scholarship is to inspire young pilots to progress from basic glider flying to advanced sport soaring and to attend college. Flying experience of at least FAI Silver Badge or Kolstad Century Award in sailplanes. This award is intended to help finance college-level study.

Eligibility Requirements

1. Must be a member of SSA.
2. Must be enrolled or planning to attend college/university.
3. Must be between the ages of 14-25. (if a winner is not yet of age to enroll in college, the grant money will be held until such time)
4. Must be a US citizen.
5. Must be a a soaring pilot wanting to progress from basic flying to advanced sport soaring.
