Aviation Scholarship

ACC/AAAAE Airport Planning, Design & Construction Symposium Grant

Scholarship Award

$5,000

Scholarship Description

The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) Foundation was established to further the education, resesarch, and other initiatives that advance innovations in airport development and foster the growth of airport development-related services.

The Foundation is also dedicated to the growth and advancement of airport development professionals. In alignment with these objectives, each year the Foundation funds grants for aspiring airport development professionals to attend the annual ACC/AAAE Airport Planning, Design and Constuction Symposium, a premier aviation event in which airport development professionals from around the country convene to discuss trends, lessons learned, and the future of the industry. The next grant will fund attendance to the 2025 Symposium held March 12-14 in San Antonio.

This is an excellent opportunity for current university students and recent graduates who are considering a career in the airport development field.

Eligibility Requirements

1. Pursuing, or have recently received, an undergraduate degree in a field applicable to airports. Because airport development includes a wide range of skills and careers, applicants will be considered with pursuits or degrees applicable to the following: planning, environmental, engineering, architecture, construction, education, business, marketing, communication, equipment, law, services, airports, suppliers, advertisers, and concessions. 2. Be less than two (2) years from receiving an undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree or no more than two (2) years after receiving an undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree. 3. Agree to attend and participate in the full ACC/AAAE Airport Planning, Design and Construction Symposium. The chance to attend the Symposium is a cornerstone of this grant and is expected that the awardee will make every effort to participate in the conference for the full duration, attending sessions and networking with other attendees. It is possible that specific expectations will be outlined for your efforts at the conference; for example, meeting and documenting discussions with the exhibitors who are present to share knowledge about the industry. These expectations could involve a follow-up after the conference concludes. ACC may provide a mentor, or mentors, to guide you through the conference and support your networking. 4. Possess a vested interest in pursuing a career in airport development or airport development-related services and demonstrate this interest in the essay portion of the application (for example, an internship, study, work experience, or other practical ties to airports). 5. Complete all components of the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
